Marvel keeps outdoing themselves every year. Just when I think they are about to sink, they come out with more incredible movies, games and (most importantly) comics. Here are just a few that may be among the best Marvel graphic novels of all time.

Age Of Ultron

Ultron Death
I was skeptical about this typical apocalyptic fantasy (affiliate link) where everyone dies (Ultimatum, anyone?) especially since it had been road-mapped to become a movie. To my surprise, it was an incredible read that wrapped up everything nicely with a bow. To battle an unstoppable artificial intelligence that has destroyed the earth, a team of heroes must travel through time to alter history. Just seeing how far heroes will go when pressed against the wall is enough to consider this one of the best Marvel graphic novels.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe

Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe
What do you take when you combine a fan-favorite character and a fan-favorite story? You create a fan-favorite hybrid that changed the world. Deadpool is a dumb character, and thus so is this story, but that has not stopped it from being lovable. What makes it one of the best Marvel graphic novels is that we see the master assassin do what he does best — kill people — in the funniest way possible. Yes you need to be favorable of dark humor to appreciate it, but as a top seller it is hard to argue with results.

Kick-Ass 3

Kick-Ass 3 comic
After the second run ended with Hit Girl in an awkward position, it left a satisfying taste in your mouth. (I wish I could say the same thing about the movie…) Kick-Ass 3 wraps up everything nicely in the same amateur super-hero storyline that we know and love. Plus the iconic and memorable art of John Romita just makes it extra special. So as I like I say at an all-you-can-eat buffet: pile it on. Add it to your stack or you are whack.

Civil War

Civil War is a lot like Watchmen. It is also a lot like X-Men. Super heroes are forced to register and no longer be anonymous. Do not like it? Go to jail. Needless to say, some are not happy about it. Others are thrilled. Thus the civil war. Though not the most original plot ever conceived, its pleasingly paced story and ridiculously realistic art makes it one of the best Marvel graphic novels. Click here to check it out.
