Superman is known for not killing people too often. He is seen as an American Boy Scout. As good as apple pie on a crisp Winter evening. Oh, except for times like when Superman kills Joker by punching through him.
Based on a game called Injustice: Gods Among Us, in a comic of the same name, Joker is up to his same old self. Except instead of targeting Batman, he messes with Superman because he is “bored”. He uses Scarecrow’s fear gas to make him think Lois Lane is Doomsday. Superman flies Lois into space and kills her. Did he take it well? Let us put it like this: Superman kills Joker, and not by suffocation or something wimpy like that. He completely obliterates his insides.
And did I mention that Lois was pregnant? It probably would not have worked out anyway. We have seen what happens when Lois has Superman’s baby inside her.
Sure, Superman has had to kill before. Batman too, who has even killed Superman. But this is certainly unusual. In a way, the plot is similar to Kingdom Come, because Superman decides to police the world afterward. Wonder Woman is in on it, too. I guess DC is running out of ideas. Either way, it is a good idea to check out the story.
The funny thing to me is that when Superman kills Joker, he had to be showing restraint. If he had actually punched him in full force, he would have been liquefied into the atmosphere. Or not. What do you think I am, a scientist?
