When I think of Marvel comics characters, many great personas come to mind: Captain America, Wolverine, and Spider-man just to name a few. Some of the best Marvel Comics characters, however, are female.

Black Cat

Marvel’s Black Cat from the Spider-man comics series is definitely a Marvel Comics character that is hard to forget. Cool, clever and sexy as hell, what is not to love? Some may argue (like myself) that she is a ripoff of Catwoman. All that means though is seeing this hot little number appear along side Spider-man has the same positive effects as seeing Catwoman appearing along side Batman. When we get to to see our favorite feline female Marvel Comics heroine flashing her pretty eyes at Spider-man, we also know that it comes packaged with some attractive artwork, some excellent stories and some side-busting humor that is hard to forget. Just seeing Black Cat in her hot costume kissing one of Marvel’s favorite characters reminds us why we love her so. Her first appearance (Affiliate Link) was in Amazing Spider-Man 194.

Gwen Stacy

Peter Parker’s first love was Gwen Stacy, not Mary Jane. Mary Jane was introduced originally just to create conflict between the two of them. Through mis-communication, one of the most beloved female Marvel Comics characters was killed off. (There is a Stan Lee interview where he discusses this in more detail.) The rich history of this classic character and her death makes her more intriquing than most. Of course her classic jacket, boots and hair make her memorable as well. If you are a fan of Gwen Stacy then you absolutely have to see (affiliate link) the movie Amazing Spider-Man 2. It tells the story of her fate that could only be told through the awesomeness of Hollywood magic.

Jean Grey

With her bright red hair color, killer legs and forceful mind powers, the Pheonix is among the top of our list of favorite female Marvel Comics characters. Arguably much more powerful than Professor X, Jean Grey is a character that is hard to forget. A good representation of her powers could be seen in the movie X-Men: The Last Stand , (affiliate link) where she basically goes ape-$#!+ on everyone and everything. Once you understand, then you know that her powers makes her one of the coolest X-Men characters.
